Glazed Stoneware
60 x 35 x 28 cm
2025
"My work explores the intersections of nature, ancient history, mythology, and queer culture. Using intricate, transformative material processes, I create sculptures, paintings and wall hangings. Works are formed through cyclical, ritualistic techniques: colour is applied from mineral pigments, oak gall ink, and gathered materials, and old pieces are reworked and recycled into new ones.
Themes of queerness, neurodivergence, motherhood, ritual, and ecology intertwine with the cyclical rhythms of the natural world. Feelings and experiences of otherness are expressed within the context of humankind’s evolutionary connection with nature.
Gathering clay and pouring saltwater, I create camouflage and forge new surfaces. I encourage the viewer to explore with curiosity the layered spaces and deep textures, to seek personal narratives and primordial memories among the camouflage, and to form their own connections with the raw matter of our world."
