Jan Frith is an artist fascinated with analogue/digital technologies and machines, working across film, sound, and 3D objects of technology, investigating the material and cultural dimensions of technology and the interplay between chance and control. Her work often bridges past and present, exposing the deep entanglement between human experience, machines and technological systems.
Rooted in social commentary and participation, her work also reflects on how culture, subjectivity, and technology are inseparable. As artist, she positions herself as both participant and productive agent within larger social machines, challenging essentialist boundaries between the human, natural, and technological.
