"Jim Bond is a sculptor specialising in dynamic kinetic structures and forms which combine electronics and programmable motors with a deep understanding of materiality. His work explores mechanisms, human futility and anthropomorphic machines as creators of their own narratives. With a practice focused on interaction and perception he is continually experimenting with new ways to see and comprehend three dimensional forms in space. Movement becomes an extra material which allows a sculpture or installation to exist within a timeframe and become both an object and a performance, creating a dynamic visual and sometimes physical interaction with the audience."
