Through the labour of meticulous drawing, I grapple with the complexities and nuances of our relationship with the natural world. Traversing an uneasy space between seeking solace in nature, while also confronting the horrifying reality of a natural world in crisis; my drawing is an act of mourning, witnessing, validating and making sense of my experience of grief and anxiety associated with climate change and the loss of fragile ecosystems, as well as the troubled history of the stolen land I live upon. My laborious mark-making is an offering of deep attention and care, but also an act of atonement.
