The work of John Ruskin has been a profound inspiration. I am committed to using my craft as maker, writer, and teacher to fight for a better society, very much in line with the vision Ruskin so passionately called for.
My creative practice challenges assumptions about craft knowledge and the role it plays in innovation, identity, and culture. By using local timbers to explore historic craft in a contemporary context, my aim is to spark conversation about the urgent need to reverse the declining role of craft in education, design, and British society more broadly.
