Pulp, cherry, steel, shellac, water colour
152 x 121 x 304 cm
2025

My sculptural work centres around materials with a natural appearance, such as pulp and concrete, which I cast from hand-built models to evoke a life-like presence that borders on the uncanny. I embrace the material as inherently sculptural, creating a viewing experience that shifts between empathy and detached objectivity. I want the work to possess the qualities of life while remaining self-aware as art. I use the material as a firm ground from which to launch ideas.
Fragmentation and distortion of the human body are motifs in my work, reflecting the inherently incomplete and enigmatic nature of human experience.
