"My practice is driven by a desire to perceive the ""individual"" not as an isolated entity, but as part of a larger, interconnected whole. I explore how disparate elements can transcend individuality to forge new relationships. This pursuit manifests in sculptures and garments crafted from felt, alongside site-specific installations that challenge conventional boundaries.
A foundational influence on this perspective is my childhood in Hokkaido, where winter snow enveloped billboards and urban structures alike, softening their distinctions into a quiet sense of unity. This aesthetic—where forms retain their outlines yet merge into a singular landscape—informs my current focus on ""wrapping and covering."" By enveloping garments and commercial packaging in felt, I blur their utilitarian definitions to evoke a sense of coexistence. Felt’s interwoven fibers serve as both metaphor and medium, reimagining connection and continuity through a tactile exploration of harmony and integrated form."
